Goal

Practitioners at this level are able, as part of a team and under supervision of a team leader, to respond and carry out complex and extended confined space rescue incidents that may include irrespirable atmospheres. Use of supplied air respirators and/or advanced rope systems to access or extricate the casualty as well as implement mechanical ventilation or exhaust systems. Use of a wide variety of gas and toxic substance detectors. Practitioners are also able to undertake community risk management and pre-planning for confined space incidents.

Previous knowledge

ITRA rope level 3 or similar

  • Certificates: ITRA confined space, supplied air respirators, gas monitoring
  • Including : gear, lunch
  • All training days in training facility
  • Validation of certificate : 3 years
