Course Overview
Rope Rescue Technician I/II is an intensive 40-hour course designed for fire service, mountain, and industrial rescue professionals. Participants learn to operate safely as part of a rope rescue team, performing technical rescues in both low- and high-angle environments.
Through hands-on training, students develop the ability to perform rope access manoeuvres, reach and stabilize casualties, and manage complex rescue systems under the supervision of a team leader.

- Knots and anchor systems
- Patient packaging and litter management
- Mechanical advantage and hauling systems
- Belay and lowering operations
- Ascending, descending, passing knots, rope 2 rope transfers, edge transitions
- Raising and lowering systems with safety factors
- Twin Tension Rope Systems (TTRS)
- Litter rigging and tending
- Pick-offs and casualty transfer techniques
Training Method
Participants gain practical experience through realistic, scenario-based exercises modeled on real rescue incidents. The course emphasizes teamwork, system safety, and efficient rescue techniques in challenging environments.

Rope Rescue Technician III is an advanced training program designed for experienced rescue professionals seeking to master complex rope rescue operations. This 40-hour course challenges participants with demanding scenarios that test rigging proficiency, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
Developed from over three decades of rope rescue instruction, this program is continually refined to include the latest research, equipment developments, and best practices from our global network of rope rescue experts.
